CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Alexios; Deimos occasionally.
Age: 24
Canon: Assassin's Creed: Odyssey

World Description: wiki through here

History: wiki through here

CRAU: N/A

Death:

Poison. Alexios has many enemies at the canon point he's taken from. If given the choice he would have wanted to die in a battle, but the people who would want him dead know not to engage him in any kind of fight. They'll slip a poison into his food and he'll die quickly and quietly a few hours later. The reason I chose this kind of death is how much it'll bother him. I think it'll be interesting to play out how he'll respond to it and all the issues associated with what he'll consider to be a dishonorable death.

What are your plans for this character in-game?

The main plan I have for Alexios is finding someone to be close to. Due to how he was raised and his actions, he's never had any friends. His family only recently found him and he didn't have time to get close to them before entering In the Night. He's broken and doesn't know how to be with other people, but he craves those deep bonds that he feels were denied him. Other than that character growth, short-term I want him to start a conversation with someone that doesn't immediately devolve into an argument and long-term I want him to become an important part of the community. I'd like him to be in a position where people trust rather than fear him.

What aspects of this game and/or its setting are you most interested in having this character engage with?

I love puzzles and challenges. One of the major draws of the information I read about the game is the aspect that will be created for the players to utilize and how those events might effect our characters. Also, the whole life after death premise is super interesting and something that I'd love to explore from a character growth perspective. An OOC appeal is the size of the game starting out. It's a good size but not so large that I won't be able to keep up with what's going on.

How does your character generally get along with other people?

Poorly. Alexios was raised by the Cult of Kosmos to be nothing more than a weapon to be used. He was trained, tortured, and brain washed so that he would believe that his value came down to what he could do for the cult and nothing more. He wasn't allowed to love and showing kindness was a form of treachery against the cult. There are times when he displays hesitance when doing their bidding, especially when others taunt him and remind him that he's a puppet for the Cult. Hating to hear that and feeling helpless to be anything else, Alexios was often cruel and brutal to others without any prompting.

When he's embraced by his mother and sister, who had shown time and again that they love him and want him to be a part of the family, he's forced to look more closely at himself. This introspection results in a more thoughtful and mild Alexios. He jests with his father during family dinner and he playfully roughhouses with his half-brother after the meal.

What is your character's mental state upon entering the game?

Alexios is a broken man. He carries a heavy guilt for all his actions in the name of the Cult. He was used and manipulated, but he chose to do what he did. It wasn't until he was shown another way to live that he even began to consider that it could be something within his grasp. He's easy to lash out. Insecure. Violent. Damaged. Cruel and insufferable. He longs for love and acceptance but is the major obstacle in the way of any of that happening. Alexios' mental state is fragile but has the room to grow and become something better.

Skills/Abilities:

Due to his bloodline and his Isu sword, Alexios is powerful in a fight. The sword, when he thrusts it into the ground, emits shock waves of energy and he can project beams of energy from the tip. While he is human, he is what they call a Tainted One - a person who is believed to be a descendant of the gods and posses extraordinary abilities. Alexios can access artifacts that give him visions but he won't have those artifacts in game to use. Other than his skill in battle and the power he wields through his weapons, Alexios doesn't have any other powers or abilities.

Flaws/Weaknesses:

His personality flaws are astronomical. He's cruel, aggressive, blunt, angry, lonely, broken, damaged, and carries the guilt of hundreds of deaths on his shoulders. In complete contrast, he wants to be close to others but doesn't know how to make that happen. The people in his life that count as weakness are his Mater and sister. His Pater and half-brother are important, but it's the first two that he would be at his weakest when they're involved. Alexios fears being weak. It out ranks self-preservation and any kindness to others. He values honor and that honor is tied to how strong and powerful he is.

Personality:

For years, Alexios went by the name of Deimos. Deimos was known throughout the Greek world as a ferocious warrior who was a puppet for Cult of Kosmos. While it was all through word of mouth and 'rumor', Deimos was exactly what people whispered him to be. He was cruel, harsh and blunt, quick to kill, and lacked empathy. He possessed a messiah complex as he thought himself to be a demigod (tainted one) due to his bloodline; descendant of Leonidas of Sparta. His upbringing by the cult was unkind and the woman who kidnapped him on the Cult's behalf admitted to torturing him as a child so that he would grow up without any weaknesses. He has a lust for violence and the battlefield and comes across as terrifying even to the members of the Cult who made him that way. He's unpredictable and quick to rain down his wrath on someone for whatever reason he deems necessary.

However, during the span of a few years he came in constant contact with his older sister Kassandra. Kassandra was a strong fighter and constantly displayed a desire to protect and care for him. She always called him Alexios, his birth name, and outright denied that he was Deimos of the Cult of Kosmos. He showed signs of hating his actions and not wanting to be the Cult's puppet. Her love and faith in him, combined with the love of his Mater led to him emotionally snapping out of the brainwashing. In tears for all the atrocities he committed, he was finally able to embrace his family and start down a path to becoming a better person. While he is still damaged, carries a heavy guilt, lacks basic social skills, and struggles to connect with other people Alexios is trying to take the right steps to atone for a lifetime of bloodshed.

He's no longer Deimos. He's Alexios.
